Reconciliation and the Ministry of Musalaha

Who: Dr. Salim Munayer
When: Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 7:00 PM
Where: YWAM Colorado Springs - 505 Popes Bluff Trail, Colorado Springs, CO 80907

"Of all the ministries in Israel, I found myself drawn most to this one. It seemed the most ambitious but also the riskiest. It wasn't an idea promoted by foreign missionaries but was birthed in the local Christian community. It didn't just talk about the problem between Palestinians and Jews. It brought the two sides together and provided a means for them to reconcile."

Details:
Dr. Salim Munayer is an Israeli-Palestinian who started the ministry "Musalaha" (Arabic for "Reconciliation") which is headquartered in Jerusalem. Dr. Munayer is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA.

His family was forced out of their village during the 1948 Israeli War of Independence and he now works on bringing not only a better understanding to the Israeli / Palestinian conflict, but ways in which the two sides can reconcile. Musalaha brings young Palestinian and Israeli Jewish believers together to meet each other and to receive training in reconciliation. Musalaha began by taking groups of Palestinians and Israelis on trips to the desert, which thanks to its isolation, is an ideal location for this type of encounter. Through these encounters, these young believers get to hear from each other, discuss difficult issues, and begin to build relationships that hopefully one day will change the face of the situation in the Middle East.

Come hear Dr. Munayer share about this ministry and what reconciliation really looks like in the Middle East. There will also be a time of Q&A on topics relating to Reconciliation, Israel, Palestinians, Theology of the Land, etc.
